No choice just now as we are only expecting the first SRT 8's in June or July. At present there are very few 300C's on the road at all as dealers only starded delivering in late December. Locally there are only two on the road.

I was fortunate enough to drive the 5.7 Hemi for a week in its LHD form an loved every minute if it. In the UK with our somewhat more expensive fuel costs it will be interesting to see how many people ignore the Hemi in favour of an SRT. If you have already adopted the V8 mindset then a couple of hundred extra cc isn't going to seem that much of a difference in terms of running cost.

What I am curious to know is how harsh is the ride by comparison to the C and is the interior markedly different?

What is really quite daunting is that our fully loaded 3.5 C costs £33,500 with the 20's and kit. An SRT 8 will sit at £38,995. If the performance is everything that has been promised, it doesn't sound like a whole lot more cash!

if you can find a dealer who is smart enough to sell you one at a reasonable price, go for the gusto!

The CSRT8 is the closest thing to a Benz for the money. Lots of expensive engineering expertise. Every comfort and convenience there is matched up with a magnificent engine. Great handling and stopping in a luxurious feeling package. More car for your hard earned dollar. So quiet that no one knows but you.

I love the fact that most people don't know what this car is. I have taken clients out in it and all they could say was how cool it was, how quiet, nice ride, killer stereo, etc. Most of these clients drive much more expensive cars. NONE of these are reasons why I bought it. I wanted the performance envelope.

Add to it all that there aren't that many out there, should bode well come re-sale time. I don't know if it's typical, but I don't seem to be experiencing any of the quality control issues out there.

Just another opinion. You get to do what YOU want!

I'm with Danrealtor, this CSRT8 is the best bang for the buck in a long time.

Embarrasses much more expensive cars. Met a high class client at dinner in Tampa the other night and she's driving a new Maserati. Wow! Hot little V-8 number. "Big 400 HP", she crows at dinner. She and her beau walk out into the parking lot with us and see the SRT sitting there and... well, you can imagine from there. They demanded to examine the car and when we left we rolled it on from about 65-70 coming onto the freeway and the C roared and they were pulled by three lengths to 120! We started behind her!

This car has a certain ferocity to its charge that is unreal given its weight and lack of aero. Less than half the price of the Maserati.

Location: Westport, MA - www.tbyrnemotorsports.com I bought my C in August of 2004. Just after that I started hearing about the SRT-8. I told myself it would be ok and that I was very happy with the C (very happy too!). The 300C is very impressive. Comfortable, fast for what it is (most people don't expect a car like this to run high 13s to low 14s), decent gas mileage and styling that is much different than what we usually see. I drove it for about 15 months.

Then... I started to notice how good the 300C was holding it's value. I then started to think it wouldn't be bad if I could get out of that car and not loose much money. Long story short, I paid about $33 or $34k for the C and got $27k for the trade 15 months later. Not bad at all. The SRT-8 was $46,745. Granted I paid full sticker for each (not good) but considering the situation and I didn't have to pay the extra $5k-$10k over sticker that some dealers were getting. I was very happy with this deal.

Benefits of the upgrade to me -

The SRT-8 is much faster than the C. Turning the ESP off and hammering it at 20-25MPH will result in the tires making angry screeching sounds

The C's computer interupts the fun at 127 MPH while the SRT-8 will see the other side of 170. I hear you can use the criuse control at that speed too.

Can't complain about the stopping ability that the Brembo brakes provide. Just have to deal with some brake dust.

Sporty and comfortable seats. I didn't think they would be this confortable when I first saw them.

Nice rumble from the stock exhaust. You have a big, 4 door sports car that can show alot of other vehicles on the road it's taillights. You can either put on a tux or dress and go out to a nice resturant for dinner. This car is up there with alot of high end luxary cars but on the other hand you can take it to a day at the drags and surprize alot of people when they see the clocks stop in the mid to high 12 second range. 4100lb sedans usually don't run that fast with no mods!

Remember, it's not about where your going... it's how your getting there!  Both versions of this car will provide you with many smiles per mile!

Enjoy the drive!
