Gamut CD 1 Mk II CD Player
The GamuT CD1 MkII player is a major improvement in sound quality over our previous DAC, which used the famous Burr Brown 20-bit 1702K DA converter.
GamuT CD1 MkII is like the predecessors CD1, CD1R and CD1S based on a Crystal CS 4390 DA converter with reduced jitter sensitivity. This IC delivers a wonderfully fluid, non-mechanical sounding midrange and treble with an exceptional smooth resolution of fine details. The Crystal CS 4390 enables a theoretical oversampling at 128 times 44,100 Hz. That is 5,644,800 Hz. This is twice the speed of DVD-audio/SACD. Most upsampling only reaches 192 kHz.
All circuit boards and the CD drive are mounted on rubber insulation, so disturbing vibration is reduced.
The drive mechanism control board contains a number of trim potentiometers allowing individual performance adjustment during final testing.
The design matches our GamuT D200 and C2R with engraved text panel in anodized aluminium, and a 10 mm thick aluminium front panel.
