1)I strongly suggest you use tube preamp for your Harbeth HL5ES. 2)I am using Sonic Frontiers Line1(original Russian 6922s) + Quad 606. I am very happy with them. 3)I tried Quad QC24(tube) and Quad 66 pre amp before. Quad QC24 is wonderful, but made strange noice via the speakers when working with my Quad 606. I don't think Quad 66 is good enough for Harbeh HL5 4)BYW, mine is Harbeth HL5 not ES or Super version
