--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hello all,

After long and painful development, the Teac Esoteric UX-1 based APL Hi-Fi NWO-1 Universal player is now ready.

My poor vocabulary is very far away from being able to describe how the NWO-1 sounds.

In short, with 10 AKM DACs per channel (20 total), two 6H30 dual triode driver tubes working in parallel Class A, 211KHz/32bit, two Master Clocks and the rest of the well known upgrades I usually do to the Denon, it is my guarantee that the NWO-1 sounds better than any other digital anywhere at any price. This applies for ALL currently available cost no object modded or stock digital setups playing ANY digital audio format.

Since I am currently swamped with Denon orders, I will be taking UX-1 machines in for the re-design early next year. I will be also selling the NWO-1 direct at $15,995 introductory price.

Regards,

Cirrus Logic

I thought I'd share this with you. It is a comment I received in an email regarding the NWO-1 performance. The gentleman who wrote it is a local audiophile who has heard all versions of the Denon in my system and also owns latest Denon with 4 AKM DACs per channel and the 32 bit upsampler. Here is what he wrote after brief audition of the NWO-1 yesterday:

" Alex,

I wanted to elaborate on my impression of the new player. It had a substantial increase in the clarity of the sound compared to the Denon. It was as if a smearing (which didn't seem to exist before I heard the new player) or veil was lifted from the presentation of the music. The flow of the music seemed even more unforced and natural than before and had much more detail, a complexity that was in no way artificial. Everything seemed just so much more "right". I still can't get over how much sound was being retrieved, even from redbook discs. As much as I enjoy the Denon, this appeared to be in another league....."

Regards,

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Fortunately, it was Sunday and my bank was closed!

So, - when Alex turned his back, - I put the new APL UX-1 in my 3910 box!! Too bad he caught me....

WOW, - this player is unbelievable!!! From the very first notes of Patricia Barber's "To Rich for my blood," I was STUNNED. I couldn't believe how big a step up this player is above the APL 3910 with AKM. With 10 AKM DACs per channel, a better upsampler, and that amazing transport, - this new player will shock those jaded audio weenies at CES..... Alex was showing me the transport with a titanium disk clamped down to 1" thick stainless steel rectangular bar that grabs a hold of the disk and spins it perfectly, - there's no way that a disk can wobble.

Instruments come out of nowhere, they are so much better defined in space, - the soundstage, - where it was huge before, - is now massive. All notes are more distinct, there is no blurring anywhere, it's absolutely uncanny. The gentle ride cymbal volume fades in and out on "To Rich for my Blood" even more clearly, smoother, - while the kick drum is more distinct from the bass guitar, and more distinct again from the floor tom.

On "So Flute" from the St. Germain CD, the flutists' breathing while he's playing, and mixing with the sound of the flute, is so clear and distinct, it is incredibly organic.

I really could not believe how much BETTER it was than the already amazing 3910. Alex has surpassed ALL standards and gone beyond them with this player. Once the rest O the World gets a listen to this, - they will walk away changed....

Unbelievable, - I have to get one...
