在这个论题上,本来吃过一次Raxel老兄的闷棍说:「我们之间有代沟」之后,凡是有Raxel老兄参与的帖子避之则吉,省得再吃一次Raxel老兄的闷棍。但看到大家讨论得这样火热,自己既然是LP的拥趸,当然会有不吐不快的感觉,难道真的能够不说上两句吗?
“Why can't digital capture "warmth" as well as analog?
It can. The engineers just have to do it carefully. Most engineers wanted to get away from "warmth" as soon as they could when the digital era started. They found that they could EQ as much treble boost as their slightly deaf ears could need, thus digital got a bad name.
The analog colorations that people mistake for warmth are possible to get in digital as well. Most engineers won't do it because they feel that it degrades the sound (which it does to some extent).”
读了这些句子,我的想法有几点感触:
1. 这些外国评论家的话,也只能说是他的观点吧了,他说这些话会有他的依据,我们当然可以把它作为参考;
2. 他说录音工程师们实际上是能够以模拟的「温暖感」,录制到CD版本上的,早期的录音他们就是这样做(这种说法解释了为什么一般人认为AAD、ADD录音较好听的原因),但录音工程师们在CD时代开始时,极力想把这种「温暖感」剔除去,因为他们希望在均衡上增加较多的高频,令耳朵高频轻微失聪者能听到。这就是CD坏名声的成因。这种说法我认为有些牵强,资本家会为少数耳朵高频轻微失聪者而作名声的牺牲?
3. 说人们误以为模拟上的音染当作为「温暖感」,CD数码上亦可以得到。录音工程师们不这样做的原因是:这样做的话,会把声音的质素降低!?我觉得录音工程师们想法只不过是他们的主观愿望,脱离了当年由模拟过度到数码录音的现实,难道录音工程师们会这样蠢,想不到听了多年的模拟声音,会不会接纳崭新的数码声音吗?CD时代开始时的AAD、ADD录音就是明显例子,谁会想到这些录音竟然是CD拥趸们的追逐对象呢!
