    似乎玩爵士已经成为风尚，最近一些老辈的摇滚艺人都有玩爵士的倾向。这张Sting的最近LIVE专辑虽然仍是不折不扣的摇滚专辑，但却多了一些爵士乐的元素。Sting的歌曲可以说听得烂熟了。早在警察乐队时代就已经被我所熟悉了。有人说Sting的歌曲太平淡，听多了也没什么味道。这大概已经是最坏的评论了。实际上像Sting这样能够既能够在人民大众广受欢迎又备受评论家推崇的摇滚歌星委实不多。主要源于他诗一般的歌词和歌中的一些政治意义。随着年龄的增长才体会越多。以往也不觉得Sting有多帅，最近看美国喜剧FRIENDS里一句对白大意是“你以为你跟Sting一样帅？”（我听力一般，但愿没听错）才知道Sting在美国人的心目中原来如此。

忘了说，all the time的同名DVD非常出色，影音俱佳。引一段美国的评论：I wanted to start buying more musical concerts on dvd so I picked Sting: All This Time because I always liked a few of his songs but based on his top songs. Just by watching this spectacular concert has put me in a better mood. There are many reasons why this dvd is so great. Just the idea of holding a concert in his backyard is so original & great. Sting has a beautiful house in Tuscany and the scenery is breath-taking. Reason for this dvd being a little expensive is theres an hour long documentry section that shows him and his multi-cultral band members practice and rehearse for the show in Sting's home. At the end, they show the band watching the newsclip of the airplane crashing into the World Trade Center and they decide whether to cancel the show or continue with it. They obviously go on with the show and seeing Sting at a emotional state of mind really shows how authentic of a artist he really is. The only drawback was that it was held on September 11th and not before that date because the atmosphere besides it being beautiful was quite mellow from the fear and sorrow from the terrortist attacks. But it was a drawback that Sting had no control of. Despite all that, it was a top-notch, above average, excellent concert that Sting has done. All I would say is that it would have been better if it had been preformed without Sting being somewhat upset because there were songs that were not preformed in respect for the victims which I think was a respectful move by Sting. So in other Words: BUY THIS DVD!!! You won't regret it.

　　流行音乐杂志《滚石》最近与MTV音乐电视联合评选出了自1963年以来世界最伟大的100首流行歌曲。“甲壳虫”乐队的经典老歌“Yesterday”(昨日)被传唱三十七年，经久不衰，高居百佳之首。

    《滚石》自去年六月便开始与MTV策划本次评选活动。之所以把评选的时间范围定在1963年至今是因为1963年“甲壳虫”乐队首次登陆美国演出标志着现代流行音乐时代的开始。仅仅选出代表这个时代的100首经典歌曲并非易事，五位《滚石》杂志的编辑和来自MTV的节目制作人、研究人员经过反复斟酌、仔细推敲才最终确定了这100首具有代表性的歌曲。

    流行的东西似乎注定短暂。流行歌曲也是鱼龙混杂，既有微不足道的作品也有令人百听不厌，历久弥深的经典精品；既有能改变世界的宏篇巨作，又有令人避之不及的粗制滥造。流行歌曲在不断制定规则也在不断突破束缚。它能打开我们记忆的闸门，引起我们心灵的共鸣。可当你确信这些歌曲将永驻心间时，它们却好象又离你远去了。对这些流行歌曲，无论你喜爱与否，它们一夜成名，获得了人们的认可。这或许正是鮑伯·迪伦的“Tangled Up in Blue”与Culture Club的 “Do You Really Want to Hurt Me？"”的相似之处吧。

    谈到LIVE专辑，让我想起许多唱片，因为我非常喜欢听LIVE专辑。虽然一般效果不如专辑唱片，但气氛很好。这张LIVE是滚石乐队25周年（1991）演唱会，汇集了滚石多年的经典名曲。说道滚石乐队，确实是传奇的化身了。还没有一个乐队能像滚石乐队坚持这么多年的。在滚石杂志评选的1963年以来最伟大的100首流行歌曲里面，滚石的(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction 高居第二位。 Miss You ，Brown Sugar 也在百甲之列。
   唱片的录音也不错。虽然是典型的硬摇滚乐队，但现场的声音很宽松，低频很有弹性，听多了也并不觉得吵。
