Du Pré primarily played two Stradivarius cellos, the instrument of 1673 (now called the "du Pré Stradivarius"), and the 1712 Davidov Stradivarius. Both instruments were gifts from her godmother, Ismena Holland. She performed with the 1673 Stradivarius from 1961 until 1964, when she acquired the Davidov. Many of her most famous recordings were made on this instrument, including the Elgar Concerto with Barbirolli, the Robert Schumann Cello Concerto with Barenboim and the two Brahms cello sonatas. From 1969 to 1970 du Pré played a Francesco Goffriller cello, and in 1970 she acquired a modern instrument from the Philadelphia violin maker Sergio Peresson. It was the Peresson cello that du Pré played for the remainder of her career until 1973, using it for a second, live recording of the Elgar Concerto, and her last studio recording, of Frédéric Chopin's Cello Sonata in G minor and César Franck's Violin Sonata arranged as a cello sonata, in December 1971.

Ma's primary performance instrument is the cello nicknamed Petunia, built by Domenico Montagnana in 1733. It was named this by a little girl, after she asked if it had a name and Ma replied "No." This cello, more than 270 years old and valued at US$2.5 million, was lost in the fall of 1999 when Ma accidentally left the instrument in a taxicab in New York City. It was later recovered undamaged. Another of Ma's cellos, the Davidov Stradivarius, was previously owned by Jacqueline du Pré who passed it to him upon her death, and owned by the Vuitton Foundation. Though Du Pré previously voiced her frustration with the "unpredictability" of this cello, Ma attributed the comment to du Pré's impassioned style of playing, adding that the Stradivarius cello must be "coaxed" by the player.[citation needed] It was until recently set up in a Baroque manner, since Ma exclusively played Baroque music on it. He also owns a cello made of carbon fiber by the Luis and Clark company of Boston.

马友友用的三把大提琴

搞不清楚的是，哈雷尔与括托娃都使用1673 “杜普雷斯特拉地瓦里”，不知有没有个时间顺序或所属关系。那位有兴趣去调查一下？哈哈。

今年5月22日哈雷尔将会在星海音乐厅演奏世界上最著名的大提琴协奏曲——德沃夏克的B小调大提琴协奏曲，届时不知用哪把琴？

杜普雷和克瓦赛维奇也有贝大奏录音。
效果一般，不如老罗和里赫特。
杜普雷有实力和天赋，但她也被神化了。
而马友友和哈雷尔给人的感觉是一种友爱、平等、和谐。
哈雷尔现在是英国皇家音乐学院的院长了。

顶楼上的，英年早逝的艺术家、影星、歌星大多被神话了，或许这和得不到的是最好的心理有关吧，个人认为杜普雷的造诣与富尼埃、老罗、托特里埃还有相当差距。等拍砖。。。。。。。。

非常同意！


因为人被神话了，他/她的一切也就被神话了！


诸如卡萨尔斯一样，在没有佛朗哥的时代的黄金三重奏里，他并不是最受关注的。但在普拉德音乐节后，无人敢说他的不是。杜普蕾也是被严重高估了的音乐家，当然，作为女性大提琴家而言，她确实在她的那个时代很出色。

杜普雷的德伏夏克和埃尔加是我听过的最深情的音乐作品。
那种振聋发聩的悲凉感挥之不去。
说她是用生命来演奏一点也不为过。
